Position Summary:

·         The Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce is seeking a positive, outgoing, organized individual, who would like to be part of our member-centric, service organization. This is an extremely rewarding job for someone who likes to work on projects and help businesses grow. The position requires interaction with members, potential members, the public, and area organizations with which the Chamber partners or may partner with in the future. The person holding this position reports to the President of the AMI Chamber of Commerce and will work as a team member with the staff. The Administrative Assistant interacts with Chamber members on a daily basis and works to ensure they have positive experiences with the Chamber.

Position Status: This is a part-time (24 hours + per week) position.

Responsibilities and Duties

Primary Responsibilities:

– Provide administrative support to the Chamber Team

– Perform duties and activities as requested by the President

– Input information to our database and membership lists

– Organize and file, as required

– Create, compose, and send bulk mailings and e-mails

– Help maintain information on projects

 Qualifications and Skills


– Associate degree or a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position

– Proficient in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel) and willingness to learn other programs

– Resourceful and reliable

– Must exhibit a positive attitude and have a desire to learn

– Excellent organizational, interpersonal, customer service, and telephone skills

– Attention to detail

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills

– Must be a dependable team player

– Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines



  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds for short distances
  • Must be able to sit and work comfortably at a desk for extended periods of time
